Resume and CV

I currently work at Stanford University in the Digital Library Systems & Services group. Our group designs, develops, and manages a wide range of digital library products, almost all of which are open source. Along with one other UX designer, I do most of the user research, user experience design, and visual design for our group, and also do some front-end development.

Prior to joining Stanford in 2012, I was a faculty member at the University of Texas at Austin School of Information, where I taught courses and supervised students in both the doctoral and master's programs and contributed to a range of academic service activities at UT and beyond. As a researcher, I served as principal- or co-investigator on several funded grant projects. See my academic archive page and my CV for details about that part of my career.

I occasionally do consulting work on web development and multimedia projects. Prior to going to graduate school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I worked as a software engineer for IBM in Research Triangle Park, NC, for nearly 10 years and I have a broad range of technical, design, research, and project management skills that I enjoy applying to both research and real-world projects. For details, please see my CV.
